How to Setup the Integration
Step 1. Login to the Verbit Platform using an Admin Account
- Admin access is required to setup integration.
- The Ensemble user account is recommended to be admin-level too, but is not required i.e. the integration would work even if the Ensemble user account is contributor-level only, but the restrictions and access will be inherited by the integration from Ensemble. (See FAQs for more info)
Step 2. Go to ADMINISTRATION > LINKED ACCOUNTS > ENSEMBLE
- The AVAILABLE FOR CONNECTION section shows a list of all applications available for integration.
Step 3. Fill out the Integration Form
- Enter your Ensemble account's server, username, and password.
- Check Automatically send back to linked account if you wish to have Verbit automatically send the finished captions to the relevant video in Ensemble automatically.
Step 4. Click TEST AND CONNECT to Complete the Setup
- Ensemble will be listed under Connected Accounts once the integration is complete.
How to Upload Files using the Ensemble Integration
Any user with either admin or content manager permissions will have access to the Ensemble integration to pull media files from Ensemble to Verbit for captioning.
To upload files using the Ensemble Integration, complete the integration as described above.
Once the integration setup is complete, files can be uploaded via + sign > Ensemble
Files uploaded using the Ensemble Integration will have the Ensemble icon next to them.
How to Export Captions using the Ensemble Integration
There are two ways to export captions from Verbit to Ensemble.
Method 1. Automatically send back to linked account
- Check Automatically send back to linked account in the integration setup if you wish to have Verbit send the finished captions to the relevant video in Ensemble automatically.
Method 2. Manual Export
- Open the job on the Verbit platform, then go to Export > Export to Ensemble
NOTE: You can also use this method to update any captions sent to Ensemble previously
Once the caption file has been exported using either methods above, the video in Ensemble will have a CC or closed captions option to display the finished captions.

Answer: Please reach out to Ensemble Support to set Verbit as your captions service provider. -
Question: If corrections or changes were made to the captions on the platform, will the changes automatically reflect in the relevant video in Ensemble?
Answer: Any changes can be manually pushed to Ensemble via Export > Export to Ensemble.
Doing so will overwrite any captions previously sent to Ensemble. -
Question: Is it possible to manually upload media files/export the captions to Ensemble in bulk?
Answer: Yes for bulk upload; No for bulk export.
Bulk upload is possible if the media files are saved in a single folder in Ensemble.
To overcome the limitation on bulk export, we recommend enabling Automatically send back to linked account in the integration settings to take full advantage of our integration. -
Question: Can the integration process video files set as private/not published in Ensemble?
Answer: No, this is not supported at the moment.
The video should be published in Ensemble.

Question: Will account admins get notification if a job gets completed or rejected as media error?
Answer: At the moment, email notification is only limited to manual uploads -- not in integrations nor API.
