Overview
Multi-Tenancy allows a single user, with one unique customer email (as opposed to multiple alias accounts) to view multiple customer accounts. The new UI offers a list of all multiple customer accounts in the upper right-hand corner, and just by toggling between the various accounts, the user is able to see what is allowed by their role for each specific account.
Use case
A popular Verbit customer is known to have 15 multiple accounts: 1 unique customer email and an additional 14 alias (duplicate) emails. Alias emails are created by adding a “+”. Refer to the following example: Rebecca+Full controll@verbit.ai, Rebecca+Semicontrol@verbit.ai , Rebecca+minimumcontrol@verbit.ai and so on. Multi-tenancy solves this issue with the ability of one customer email account able to view multiple customer accounts.
Working with Multi-Tenancy
Selecting the unique email (for admins & non-admins)
Customer must select a unique email which will be used to enter all various customer accounts.
- In the figure below, user logs in to their account using the unique email alison@email.com and single password.
If no unique email is available, perform the following steps:- Login to Verbit platform with the current alias email account.
- Which role is designated to the alias’s email account: Refer to the table below and select accordingly:
- Admin Role
- Go to Admin > Users
- Select the alias email and delete it:
To delete, click the X to the right of the name. In the figure below, we deleted the alias email anton+morc@verbit.ai - Create a new user for anton. Make sure this email is without any alias (+).
- Non-Admin Role
- Go to My Account
- Navigate Edit User section
- In the email text box, remove the "+" from the alias email account and click Update.
- Admin Role
- The User now has a unique email in two customer accounts: UVA and Dark Star. The User is directed to the My files page UVA account.
- In the UVA account, User serves as Admin and has full access to this account.
- Select Admin tab to open the User Management page.
- In the table below, user was assigned the Admin role.
- In the UVA account, User serves as Admin and has full access to this account.
- User returns to My files page and now selects the additional account, Dark Star.
- The My files page is automatically displayed for Alison with her Dark Star roles.
- In the example below, User is also assigned Admin role.
NOTE:
- User can toggle between accounts (UVA and Dark Star) with same email and can only view in respective account based on what role is assigned to them.
- When user logs in next time, they are directed to the account which they previously logged out from.
Limitations
Important: This section is applicable for current users who have more than one existing alias account.
All alias accounts are not updated automatically. User is required to go into account and remove all user with “+” from each email account and create a new user with the chosen primary email account (refer to Selecting the unique email (for admins & non-admins).
This will allow user to move between accounts, using only one unique email account.
