Session Status
The status of the session is displayed on the top-most part of the Live Deposition page.
Each session will run through these statuses in sequence:
- Starting Soon means the session is yet to start and the PLAY button will not be available yet.
It will be available shortly before the deposition start time, at the same time the status changes to Getting Ready.
If the status does not update and if the deposition is about to start, please try to refresh the page. - Getting Ready means the session is ON but the transcribers are still preparing.
NOTE: Starting the recording at this stage means that the corrected transcript may be delayed and will show a warning:
- Ready means the transcribers are ready and the recording can start. We recommended clicking the PLAY button at this point.
- Transcribing means the recording has begun and the real-time transcript is actively in production
- Draft Processingrefers to sessions that had recently concluded with the rough draft of the transcript still in progress.
NOTE: Rough drafts will be available about 1 hour after the deposition has ended and only for customers that pre-ordered it.
Managing the Live Stream from Zoom
Once the deposition starts in Zoom and you clicked the PLAY button, you will see a Live at Verbit indicator on the upper-left area of your Zoom app.
This indicator means the audio is being streamed to the Live Deposition page for transcription.
If you don’t see such an indicator, this might mean the Zoom meeting opened in the Zoom app did not match the Zoom meeting link in the booking form.
Please update the link in the booking form or contact Support via CHAT.
See Review and Edit Session Details
Managing the Recording
You can start recording by clicking the PLAY button at the top of the Live Deposition page.
Once the recording starts and you clicked the PLAY button, the PLAY button will be replaced with a STOP button.
Audio Streaming Error
If there is an error with audio streaming, you might see this error:
This error means the Zoom meeting opened in the Zoom app did not match the Zoom meeting link in the booking form.
Please update the link in the booking form or contact Support via CHAT.

Additional Notes
As Operator, you are expected to manage the recording, that is: start, pause (for breaks or any other reason), resume, and effectively be on top of the transcription flow.
We rely on you to decide what parts of the deposition need to be transcribed by utilizing the available recording controls on the Live Deposition page.
You can always reach out to the Support Team via CHAT for any questions, issues, or requests.

The Transcript Area
The transcript area is where the real-time transcript is built and viewed as the recording progresses.
If you ordered an AI Only transcript, you will see only the AI output.
- The fast automatic AI output in a bluish background, displayed on the bottom part of the transcript area
- The Improved AI version in white background, displayed on the upper part of the transcript area.
If you ordered Immediate and/or Rough Draft, the transcript area will be divided into two parts:
- The automatic AI output in a bluish background, displayed on the bottom part of the transcript area
- The human-corrected version in white background, displayed on the upper part of the transcript area
Each new text will be posted in the blue AI area, then moved to the human-corrected area.
SPEAKERS IDENTIFICATION (ONLY FOR IMMEDIATE AND/OR ROUGH DRAFT VERSIONS)
Each speaker will be identified by a different color.
You can also see the speaker’s colors on the timeline on the top part of the page, so you can jump to different parts of the transcript according to the speaker’s color.
NOTE: The AI engine will automatically identify the speakers about 10 minutes into the session.
Legal Formatting
The transcribers apply legal formatting as the session progresses, for your convenience.
There are different types of legal formatting that are added by the team, namely:
- Examinations
- Q/A/Colloquy
- On/Off the record
- Exhibit marked
- Objection
If you ordered a rough draft, you will also get these formatting: - Read-back/Play-back
- Swear in
