Verbit supports transcriptioning for Zoom breakout rooms; for which the solution will depend on how the breakout rooms will be utilized during the actual event in Zoom.
If breakout rooms will be used in series, such that NO two breakout rooms that requires captioning will be concurrent
The host must assign Verbit Captions (CC) as the captioner for the event
This can be done by the host on the onset of the meeting, or right before the meeting switches to the breakout room.
If done, Verbit Captions can get the API token of either the main room and/or the breakout room and resume the link, saving the host from providing it everytime the class switches between the main and the breakout room.
NOTE: Only one session has to be booked for this scenario.
If breakout rooms will be used in parallel, such that two or more breakout rooms that require captioning will be used concurrently, there should be one session booked per breakout room PLUS one additional session for the main room.
It follows it’s best that the requester have an insight of how many concurrent breakout rooms will be used during the event.
NOTE: We recommend adding Main Room and BR on the session names for identification
One Verbit Captions agent will be assigned per session.
Consequently, a relevant number of Verbit Captions agents will join the event, identifying their assignment thru their display names.
The host should assign participant “CC - SV” as Captioner and Co-host of the meeting to be able to get the respective API tokens of each room and distribute it amongst all of the Verbit captioners.
The host can then assign the rest of the Verbit Captions agents to their respective breakout rooms on or before the event switches to the breakout rooms.
NOTE: The Verbit Captions agent assigned to the main room does not need to be moved to a breakout room.
CC - SV will manually join one room to another and provide Verbit Captions with the API token of each room, enabling them to stream captions into the Breakout Room while saving the host the task of providing each captioner the API token.
